2015 temperatures hit record high globally

Below is a graphic from GHCN-M & ICOADS data sets provided by NOAA and published on Bloomberg. It shows how global temperatures have risen in the past century.

The scary part is that temperatures climbed dramatically in the second half of 2015. More importantly, temperatures in December is was a whole 2 degree Fahrenheit above the average for the 20th century. While warnings by scientists set the point of no return at 2 degree Celsius, the thresholds is not far away, since 2 degree Celsius equals only 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit – so we are more than half way there.
