Telstra to provide M2M services to Komatsu

| June 5, 2015

Australia’s incumbent telco Telstra has signed a three year deal to provide a host of services, including machine-to-machine services to heavy machinery manufacturer Komatsu.

The US$23 million deal includes the communications and management infrastructure to remotely download performance data from some 700 pieces of equipment in mine sites, according to a report in Mobile World Live. The application replaces the existing method of gathering such data on-site.

Telstra will also provide voice and data services as well as cloud services – a hybrid model consisting of private infrastructure and Microsoft Azure – to Komatsu.
