BT talks green

British Telecom can be seen as a clear leader in the fight against climate change, both within and outside the telecom sector. The company has embarked on a major companywide movement to reduce carbon emissions, implemented policies to reduce travel, and recently announced plans to spend some £250 million to build wind farms to supply power for 25% of its energy requirements facilities across Britain by 2016. Green Telecom talks to Donna Young, head of BT’s Climate Change group, about the drivers behind the company’s green strategy and the challenges and benefits of combating climate change.
